WHY WE FELL IN LOVE WITH RAJADHIRAJA YOGA – A HOLISTIC SCHOOL OF YOGA
The yoga we practice and teach is Rajadhiraja Yoga, which is not considered a style in the modern sense of this term, but rather a holistic school that encompasses all four branches of yoga and eight limbs of Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga. In regular classes, we teach breathing exercises, yoga postures or asanas, and guided relaxation. In terms of asana practice, Rajadhiraja Yoga draws on elements of Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, but it is distinguished by carefully selected postures that create a strong and profound effect on the entire body.
In Rajadhiraja Yoga classes we don't always use the same sequence of asanas, but we always plan new ones for you. The practice is built on the principles of intelligently linking postures so that the whole body is activated, opened, and brought into balance. Each class has its own inner logic and a coherent rhythm.
Special emphasis is placed on the final integration of the practice in guided relaxation, when the body and mind have the opportunity to fully absorb the effects of the asanas. In this deep relaxation, there is often a feeling as if the body has become new—lighter, more fluid, and more alive. This sense of inner peace and harmony is what many students recognize as a distinctive quality of a well-guided yoga practice.
