THE DISCOVERY OF MY CALLING
My journey with yoga began in an unexpected way.
One morning, I woke from a vivid dream in which I met a very young sage, who spoke only two very clear words to me: “Do yoga.”
Until that moment, yoga had never crossed my mind. Yet something within me had shifted. The dream awakened an undeniable inner impulse, and soon afterwards I enrolled in a local yoga course, attending classes twice a week. From the very first practice, I knew I had found something very beneficial and meaningful. From that moment on, yoga became a lifelong path.
In the yogic tradition, this kind of inner calling is sometimes understood through the concept of atma shakti—the innate power of the soul that quietly guides us toward growth, truth, and the teacher we are ready to meet. Looking back, I feel that this inner guidance was already at work long before I was aware of it.
That first dream was not the end of the journey. It was the beginning.
About four years later, I got in touch with my lifelong yoga teacher. Through regular practice under the guidance of my teacher and the gradual integration of yogic principles—from breath and movement to nutrition and a more conscious relationship with body and mind—I began to feel a deep shift in the quality of everyday life. I had more energy, inner stability, and a stronger sense of connection with myself. At the same time, a quieter and clearer sense of direction, presence, and trust in my own life path began to unfold.
When I first tried teaching, I felt that this was a path I wanted to dedicate myself to. Life circumstances then led me to the tropical island of Sal in Africa, where I spent four years teaching people who came for surfing, relaxation, and the freedom of the ocean. It was during this period that the name Sal Yoga was born.
In 2015, I felt it was time for a new chapter. I chose my hometown Pula as my new base, where I continued to develop my work and deepen my experience of teaching yoga.
EDUCATION
All of my education followed the traditional gurukula system learning directly through close mentorship, daily life, and continuous practice alongside my yoga teacher. This form of training allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of yoga as a life path, rather than merely a physical practice.
As part of my training at the Himalayan Yoga Institute under the mentorship of Acharya Ganga Devi, I completed:
200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTTC) – foundational course
300-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTTC) – advanced course
Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training
1000+hour Yoga Therapist Training (still in progress)
At Peter Hess® Academy Hrvatska Adria Group under the mentorship of Silvana Leskovar and Mirjana Maksimović, I completed training as a practitioner of Peter Hess® sound massage.
THE WAY I TEACH
My teaching is shaped by years of dedicated practice, study, and transmission within my guru’s lineage. This lineage is not something I claim as personal authority, but something I stand within and serve with humility.
I am especially interested in creating conditions where students can feel yoga directly, rather than only understand it conceptually. For this reason, my classes emphasize attentive practice, inner observation, and the cultivation of steadiness and sensitivity in the body and mind.
I do not offer performance. I offer a space of practice.
A space where something deeper than personality can be met.
A space where the noise of the external world softens, and where the inner experience becomes more clearly perceived.
A space where transmission is possible—not as something I produce, but as something that arises when practice, presence, and sincerity meet.
